The Head’s Awards are a key part of our rewards structure which recognise exceptional attributes and actions students demonstrate, whether in school or beyond. It’s our way of celebrating achievement, initiative and the remarkable impact our students are making on the world around them.
Anousha and Charlotte, both year 11, received the CREST Silver award for the project Tako-t-subo Cardio-my-opathy (also known as broken heart syndrome), which is a temporary heart condition that causes the heart muscle to weaken.
Thank you to our year 12s who delivered a fantastic Politics Conference on the 2024 UK General Election: Violette, Sophie, Amara, Izzy, Anna, Leo and Effie.
Having completed her second Foundation Academy year successfully, Mysha (Year 13) has been selected to be one of 12 young dressage riders in the UK to become a National Academy Athlete in 2025. This is a nine-month training program funded by Sport England. Well done, Mysha!
After successful netball trials for both Team Bath and London Mavericks, Maggie (Year 9) has chosen to take up the offer of a place on the Team Bath U15 Academy, playing a year above her age group in a squad that competes in the National Performance League. Team Bath is a key element of England Netball’s Player Pathway and this is a fantastic achievement.
Annabelle (Year 10) got her first cap for France on 15th of December where she competed in the netball Under 19 European Championships for France.
Yolanda (Year 11), Rose (Year 9), Evie (Year 10), and Cathy (Year 9) won the Royal Society of Chemistry’s Top of the Bench regional heat. They will now go on to represent the Thames Valley region in the national phase of the competition, which is a fantastic achievement.
Simran (Year 10) has been accepted to join the technical crew for the National Theatre Connections Festival 2025 at the North Wall. This is a very prestigious event, where Simran will be creating and managing the tech for four plays. This is a superb achievement and recognition of Simran’s talent and dedication to this field.
Ava ( Year 11) receives a Head’s Award for creative and conscientious commitment to the A level Drama devising process and performance.
Congratulations to Teresa (Year 13) who achieved a distinction – the highest level certificate – in the first round of the British Mathematical Olympiad.

Lexi (year 10) and Emilia (year 10) won both their solo and ensemble class at the Oxford Music Festival.
Many congratulations also to Emma (Year 10) on winning the Helen Goodworth Cup for the best instrumental or vocal recital by an under 18 entrant at the Oxford Music Festival. This is an outstanding and richly deserved award!
Well done Isla (year 10), who came third at a national figure skating competition in Cambridge.
Trissee (year 10) won Gold in badminton in the Women’s Singles U16 Oxfordshire Junior restricted tournament 2024.
And Cassie (year 10) has been selected for the England touch rugby national pathway. Her selection means he has a chance to qualify for the World Cup.
Tanya (Year 13) receives a Head’s award in recognition of outstanding contribution to drama and musical theatre, not just in Year 13, but over the course of her entire school career in numerous extra-curricular productions.
Aoife (Year 13), Tessa (Year 13), Africa (Year 13), Maia (Year 13) for your willingness to share your experience with others, giving voice to important issues, and for leading by example. Maia also recorded NASH’s first podcast! Thank you and keep flying the flag!
To Matilde (year 8) for your enthusiasm and determination to enlighten people on what it is like to live with autism and help shed false narratives about neurodiversity.
To Esther (year 7), Rhianwen (year 7), who both receive a Head’s Award for courage shown when answering questions for a podcast to educate others about neurodiversity.
And to Hannah (year 8) who has repeatedly shown determination to overcome challenges and resilience when set back. Well done, Hannah.
Margaret (year 8) has managed to set up a chess club all on her own. It is thriving with many regular attendees. Margaret is also keen to set up a chess team in the summer term so watch this space!
The University of Southampton runs the National Cipher Challenge, an annual codebreaking competition that tests students’ ability to crack ciphers with increasingly difficult challenges over a number of weeks. A Head’s Award is given to Jemima (Year 8), Angela (Year 8), Amina (Year 8), Lucy (Year 8) for making it into the top 200 codebreakers. And this year, Yumna (Year 12) and Aneesa (Year 9) achieved joint third place in the competition. Congratulations to you both.
The ERP evening earlier this term was a hugely successful event, and our year 13 Head’s Award winners presented their extended research projects in front of an audience of around 100 people! Well done Isabel, Aarya, Rosemarie, Africa, Amalie, Keira, Claudia, Emma, Maria and Chloe.
Heidi (Year 12) and Avvani (Year 12) played a key role in welcoming the editor of Muddy Stilettos schools’ magazine. They gave our visitor a tour of the senior school earlier this month ensuring she left with a genuine fantastic impression of the school.
Charlotte (year 10) gains recognition for her winning entry to the CENTURY Tech Changemakers competition – KS4 category. Charlotte designed an app, Reloved, that addressed the UN sustainable development goal of responsible consumption and production, with a focus on clothing.
And Matilde (year 8) also had a winning entry in the Innovation category. Matilde designed an app, WaterScan, that worked with a sensor to help those in developing countries test the water quality and offer purification advice.
Congratulations to Evie, (year 10) who came first in a South Hampstead debate competition.
Rahee (year 8) has written and published 3 books in Korea, The Girl with the Silver Bag series!
All year, Agnes (Year 13) has been unwavering in her support of the Athena House Prefect team this year. She has been a consistent presence at house events, helping to run rehearsals and enthusiastically supporting the younger students. We have been very grateful for her help and selfless attitude.
We always look forward to the latest squash update on Emily (Year 12), and this term is no exception as she has been selected to represent GB in the French Squash Open, taking place this week. Many congratulations Emily!
And finally we say a huge well done to Shambavi (Year 9), who, in recent high level chess tournaments, passed FIDE 2000 points and achieved her first title: ‘Women Candidate Master ‘. This is the first step to achieving Grand Master status. With this grading, Shambavi is in the top 20 female players in England, and top 10 for her age category in the world.
