The creative arts always feature high up in our students’ lists of university choices. This year we are delighted that students have offers for a range of highly competitive Art Foundation courses as well as Theatre Set Design.
Currently, OHS alums are to be found studying a wide range of creative arts degrees, from the more familiar Fine Art or Textiles design courses to newer courses like Animation or Computer Game design. Alumnae now working in the creative arts in fields as diverse as costume design for theatre, film and TV productions or as professional artists. We are fortunate that our creative alumnae, figures such as artist and potter Amy Isles Freeman (pictured below), regularly return to talk to the girls about their experiences of studying and working in such exciting industries.
The new facilities for the creative arts in the Ada Benson Building can only enhance our offering for artistic students, and we look forward with great anticipation to the work and future directions these artists, creatives and makers will pursue.
