As the summer term comes to a close, we sadly say goodbye to another fantastic cohort of Year 13s and wish them well for the future. Over the last few months, we have marked important milestones, celebrated their achievements, and watched them grow as individuals, until the final dance at the Leavers Ball!
Strawberry Tea
Ahead of Study Leave for their A Level exams, we gathered together to to mark the last day of school for our Year 13s. After a fun lunchtime on a bouncy castle, they enjoyed delicious treats provided by the catering team and Alfonso’s Ice Cream, before signing each others leavers books.
Farewell and At Home
On Wednesday 5th July, we hosted the Farewell and At Home event, a long-standing OHS tradition where we celebrated their achievements before they start university and their working lives. Each student was honoured individually, before we enjoyed refreshments provided by the catering team.
We were delighted to welcome Helen Thomas, an OHS alumna and founder of BlondeMoney, an independent consultancy firm which analyses and monitors mispriced risks in financial markets. She gave a wonderful commencement speech, inspiring our Year 13s to go excitedly into their future and never forget their memories from school.
Leavers Ball
On Friday 7th July, we said one final goodbye to Year 13 with the annual Leavers Ball. This year, we enjoyed an ‘Enchanted Forest’ themed event, giving students the opportunity to enjoy their last meal together with their favourite teachers and the opportunity to dance the night away with their friends.
What next for our Year 13s?
After Sixth Form they take their place among our amazingly diverse and successful alumnae in the next phase of their life, whatever that may be. Please keep in touch, we love hearing news from former students!
