Girl Power and Storytelling with Geri Halliwell-Horner

30 April 2025

It’s not every day you get to hear from a global icon, bestselling author and lifelong champion of girls — but last week, Oxford High School GDST had the absolute honour of welcoming Geri Halliwell-Horner to our school for a truly unforgettable author talk.

Geri visited us to celebrate the launch of her latest book, Rosie Frost: Ice on Fire, the thrilling sequel to Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queen. With her signature warmth and energy, Geri spoke to a captivated audience of students about her writing journey and the powerful themes at the heart of the Rosie Frost series: courage, friendship and believing in yourself — even when the odds are stacked against you.

Our very own Librarian, Ms McMorrow, hosted the conversation, asking Geri questions about her writing process, her inspirations and the advice she’d give to young girls today.

As part of our ongoing outreach work, we were delighted to invite pupils from local state schools to share in this event.

At Oxford High School, we’re proud to foster a space where girls can be unapologetically themselves. Our students are nurtured to flourish academically, socially and creatively. And events like this are part of that spark.

Thank you, Geri, for reminding us all that girl power isn’t just a slogan, it’s a mindset!
