GCSE Exam Success 2016

25 August 2016

A quarter of Oxford High girls gain 10 or more A* at GCSE!

68% of results were A*
92% of results were A*/A
99% of results were A*-B
100% A* in Mandarin and Design Technology
100% A*-A in Russian, Mandarin, Spanish, German, Art, DT and Textiles
93% A*-A in Mathematics
92% A*-A in Sciences
94% A*-A in English

Head of Oxford High School, Judith Carlisle, said:
“Wherever you look at these results, you see excellence. Nearly 2/3 of our Year 11 students achieved 100% A*-A and 1/4 attained a clean sweep of 10 or more straight A*s.
I am tremendously proud of each and every girl. Their results show that whatever they choose to study, they consistently perform equally well across a huge range of subjects.

A great example is in Modern Foreign Languages where 82% of grades were A* and, in
Mandarin, our 24 students, most of whom are non-native speakers, celebrated a clean sweep of straight A*s for the third year in a row. That is just remarkable.
The visual arts also had huge success with Design Technology students achieving straight A*s for the fourth year in a row and 100% A*-A across Art and Textiles, too.”
