Our Year 11 girls had many reasons to celebrate with a fantastic 71% of grades at A* (or the numeric equivalent) in their GCSEs. An impressive 78% of girls achieved 9 or more A*/A equivalent grades. It is always invidious to single out individuals, but Claudia Preston’s clean sweep of all A* and grade 9s, the highest grades available in all the ten subjects which she sat, merits special mention. All of our girls took at least one language, with 69% taking two or more languages. The cumulative percentage of language grades at A*/A/9-7 was a remarkable 97%, with grades at A*/9/8 totalling an impressive 77%. Our Hispanists, with 82% of grades at A*, were narrowly pipped to the post by our Latinists, who registered a remarkable 88% of grades 9/8. It seems that our school motto seems as apposite as ever – Ad Lucem! Well done to all of you!
