We are delighted to announce that the OHS Head Girl Team was one of three runner up teams in the Future Leaders Challenge, with their exciting plan to use the school to run evening classes for a community education centre.
The Future Leaders Challenge was the culmination of a week of leadership seminars, webinars and activities for the Head Girl Teams across GDST schools last term, designed to help the girls further develop their leadership skills, both as current and future leaders. The challenge was to design an initiative to advance environmental issues at a school or local community level, with links to the GDST sustainability strategy.
The range of speakers across the week was truly inspiring and included Cheryl Giovannoni, CEO of the GDST, Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon, founder and CEO of Stemettes, a social enterprise promoting women in STEM careers and Sophie Walker, co-founder of the Women’s Party. Topics covered included personal branding, making change happen, teamwork and resilience as well as rebel women.
Well done to the OHS Head Girl Team on this impressive achievement.
