From Fifty to Five Years On

17 May 2017

The middle Saturday of May is our traditional alumnae reunion lunch weekend and 2017’s party saw over 120 alumnae gathering at Oxford High for champagne, lunch, and lots of reminiscing. We had three OHS alumnae who had not seen each other for fifty years, one of whom had come over from New Zealand especially. We had a huge gathering of fun and feisty OHS alumnae who were reuniting for their 30 and 25 years on reunions and – as we do every year – we welcomed back our our recent leavers from five years ago, the 2012 year group. Before setting off for photographs and a nostalgic wander around the school, our outgoing Head, Judith Carlisle and our current Chair of Alumnae, Mrs Dorothy Whittington, welcomed everybody back to OHS and outlined the exciting plans for new school developments ahead. Hilarious tales were then shared by Professor Sarah-Jayne Blakemore who organised the 25 Years On gathering, Lara from the Thirty Years On group and from Janaki who was Head Girl in 2012.

Our new digital archive project was given a boost and Alex, our Citizenship Scholar was on hand to meet and greet alumnae in the hope that they will support our fundraising drive for this initiative.

All photos from the event can be viewed here.

For future reunions – please do keep an eye on our Alumnae Reunion webpage for further details or contact alumnae@oxf.gdst.net
