Our U18 Indoor Hockey and U15 & U18 Football teams enjoyed some fantastic achievements as they recently took part in various Cups and Regional competitions.
U15 Football
The U15 football team travelled to Millfield for the next round of the Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) National Cup where they caught the opposition by surprise, going 3-0 within 20 minutes of the game starting. Millfield tried to come back at OHS but the team were too strong defensively and created many more attacking opportunities themselves but could not find the back of the net. The game finished 3-0 to Oxford High, and the U15 football team have advanced to the 3rd round of the Cup.
U18 Football
The U18 football team travelled the much shorter distance to Headington for the next round of the ISFA National Cup, where the improvement across the pitch from the previous game to this game was impressive. The team played extremely well and won 4-0, advancing them to the 3rd round of the Cup.
U18 Indoor Hockey
The U18 indoor hockey team played in the Regional Finals on Sunday 28th November – their first time playing in the competition. The team started the day a little slowly, not a surprise given it was an 8am start! They managed to play out a 2-2 draw, nearly scoring as winners in the end. They then went on to win 2-1 against the eventual winners and narrowly lost 1-0 to a strong and experienced Wellington side. The team, unfortunately, missed out on advancing to the semi-finals by only one goal. However, all players performed outstandingly well on the day – to compete so well against teams who have been playing indoor hockey at this level for 4+ years is a huge achievement.
