Exploring Kant’s Moral Philosophy with Dr. Tim Mawson

5 March 2025

We were thrilled to welcome Dr. Tim Mawson, a Fellow in Philosophy at St Peter’s College, University of Oxford, to give a talk on Immanuel Kant’s moral philosophy. Dr. Mawson provided an engaging and insightful presentation, delving into Kant’s ideas in a way that sparked curiosity and reflection among our Year 8 students. His talk gave them a deeper understanding of Kant’s ethical theories, enriching the current topic they are studying.

What made the session particularly special was the interactive question and answer segment. Dr. Mawson encouraged students to explore the complexities of Kant’s philosophy, offering clear explanations and sparking thoughtful discussions. The students left with a nuanced appreciation of Kant’s work and how it influences modern moral thinking.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Mawson for taking the time to share his expertise with us. It was an invaluable opportunity for our students to learn from a leading philosopher and deepen their understanding of this important philosophical figure.
