The student voice is strongly encouraged and this is demonstrated through our active involvement in lively debate in school and within the community. On Thursday 12th October, we were delighted to welcome 30 Cherwell students to the Ada Benson Building for a night of friendly verbal sparring with members of our Debate Club.
Students spoke eloquently on topics ranging from the regulation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to whether or not the exam system should be restructured. They relished the opportunity to gain valuable feedback from our team of judges, who were looking for high-quality arguments and clear, engaging delivery.
It’s always exciting to see our students engage with pertinent issues in this way, and one visiting teacher commented on how great it was to see her students become confident speakers within a debating environment. We are looking forward to the next round!
