On Wednesday 28th November 2023, we came together as a diverse and vibrant community to honour our varied backgrounds and traditions. Celebrate Your Culture Day was organised by our Diversity Prefects, Emma and Eva.
Embracing diversity strengthens the fabric of our community and prepares our students for a brighter, more interconnected future.
Culture day is when everyone is encouraged to take part in cultural activities, explore other cultures and traditions and wear something which represents their culture. I think it is very important to celebrate all the different cultures and also to discover new cultures!
I really enjoyed seeing everyones outfits and taking part. We took a photo of all the delightful outfits. I love culture day because it’s fascinating and eye opening, almost like visiting lots of different countries and their cultures! Overall it was an amazing experience!
Some of my classmates found it “a great experience to find out more about each other’s backgrounds and be more thoughtful on culture and heritage” and they “loved seeing the diversity throughout the school and seeing what traditional clothes from other places looked like.” I’m looking forward to next year’s celebrations already!
