We’re incredibly proud of Cecily, in Year 13, who took part of the Under 17 Young Lionesses at the FIFA Women’s U17 World Cup in October. The team, led by head coach Natalie Henderson, achieved an impressive fourth-place finish. Though they narrowly missed the bronze after a 3-0 loss to the USA in the play-off, Cecily and her teammates demonstrated incredible skill and resilience.
Competing in the Dominican Republic gave the squad invaluable international experience, facing different styles of play and the pressure of a world tournament. Head coach Natalie Henderson expressed her pride, saying, “These are experiences that the girls will never forget… It will stand them in good stead for their own development.”
Cecily’s journey in this World Cup has set a solid foundation for her future, and we can’t wait to see where her talent takes her next!
