Bringing Italian to Life: Year 10 Students Teach Year 3s at Oxford High Prep

5 March 2025

Written by Merkel, Year 10

The Year 10 Italian group had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting the Oxford High Prep School to teach Italian to the Year 3 students of classes 3A and 3C. We arrived for period seven, around 1:30 PM, and from the moment we started, it was clear that this was going to be a special afternoon.

Both classes were incredibly enthusiastic and full of energy, eager to learn and engage with us. It was such a joy for us to teach them basic Italian greetings like “ciao” for hello and “arrivederci” for goodbye, along with numbers from 1 to 10 and simple colours. Their excitement was amazing and we couldn’t help but feel just as eager to teach them!

We truly hope the Year 3 students had as much fun as we did. The time flew by, and before we knew it, it was 3:20 PM, and we had to say our goodbyes. It was such a heartwarming experience and we left feeling grateful for the chance to connect with them and share our love of Italian.
