Anousha Wins The Amber Atherton Award

3 October 2024

Written by Anousha, Year 11

The Amber Atherton Award honours young visionaries who are creating innovative ideas that can drive social change. It provides a unique opportunity for students to showcase their ingenuity, providing guidance and resources to help them turn their ideas into reality. Receiving this award not only represents recognition of our vision, but also recognition of our vision. But it is also an opportunity to take innovation to the next level.

My idea was a hybrid solar-powered portable water filtration system. This is suitable for communities facing poverty or disaster. This system is compact and durable. It uses state-of-the-art filtration technology to remove microplastics, viruses and other harmful substances from water. Its modular design allows multiple units to be linked together for regions with limited access to clean drinking water. It is a versatile and scalable solution.

To me, this award represents more than just recognition. This paves the way for further development of this project. It provides access to necessary resources and facilitates partnerships that can help turn this idea into a practical solution. It feels like the first step in making a significant impact on global water security. By turning a straightforward idea into something has the potential to change lives.
