Today marks the beginning of Black History Month 2020. Here at Oxford High, we’re taking the opportunity to celebrate black history through a series of talks and events throughout October and beyond, designed to encourage reflection and discussion amongst our students.
To kick off the month, we were delighted to be able to share the following address from Baroness Amos with our girls. Recently appointed Master of University College (and in so becoming the first ever black college head at Oxford University), Amos highlights the structural racism that exists in societies across the world, and challenges us to think about what we can do, at a personal level, to create a more just and equal future.
