The sound of Christmas carols being rehearsed… staff preparing for the annual panto behind closed doors… students bringing in all sorts of materials for the Form Decorating Competition… that can only mean the start of the OHS festive celebrations, and do we celebrate indeed!
On the evening of Wednesday 8th, we headed to St Andrew’s Church on Linton Road for OHS’ Christmas Carol Service – and what a beautiful evening it was. As expected from our Music Department, a warm, splendid singing filled the church as we heard from our choirs and soloists. A huge well done to all students and staff involved for giving us a very wonderful carol service.
The Chemistry Department wasted no time with the festive season and got into the Christmas spirit early – last week, they created their infamous ‘Chemis-tree’ by utilising the ever-so-colourful properties of transition metal compounds!
And of course, how could we forget one of our favourite and most well-known school traditions: the Form Decorating Competition. Walk along the school corridors and you will see the immense creativity and personality of each Form Room as they pulled out all the stops to impress the judges. There were themes ranging from Home Alone to the John Lewis advert and James Bond! Many congratulations to the winning forms.
From all of us at OHS, we wish each and every one of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope you all have a wondrous Christmas break, and we look forward to seeing you next Term!
