A Trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park

21 June 2021

By Ava-Mae and Sophia (Year 7)

On Thursday (17th June) Year 7 and Year 8 students went on a Kaleidoscope Day to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, Burford. It was an enjoyable day for all as well as very educational – it has definitely built our knowledge on our current science topic: ecology!

We toured around the Park for the whole day and saw pretty much all the animals there. Some notable animals that were definitely favourites were Charlie the goat, the red pandas, the rhinos, otters and the anaconda, which was massive!

We were very lucky to have seen the peacock poof out its feathers (even though it did charge at our favourite goat, which then charged at us….).

As well as seeing these wonderful animals, we were also given a booklet to fill in about the animals and there was a prize for the best one. Also, there was a photography competition which many students have entered.

One of the highlights of the day was the goat field. We got to go in the goat field and pet the goats. They were so sweet and so fun to be with. My form, 7O, named our favourite goat, a small brown one with huge horns, Charlie.

It is fair to say that students and staff alike had a great time….thank you very much to Dr Regardsoe for organising this wonderful day!
