Oxford High School and the GDST are launching our ground-breaking student mentoring scheme to deliver on the GDST promise of finding innovative and impactful ways of supporting your daughter during her Sixth Form years.
OHS is uniquely well-placed to do this. Our GDST alumnae family is an immense community sharing bonds of common ideology and values that drive a genuine desire to support each other after our school years have ended. Your daughter, as a Sixth Former, is now a member of this very special group: a group that will support her for the rest of her life.
The mentors will be selected from recent OHS alumnae who are currently studying at universities the length and breadth of the country. They will be fully trained, fully reference-checked, and fully signed-up to the GDST Mentoring Charter. The GDST already runs a mentoring programme for our alumnae and now is the time to extend the offer to OHS Sixth Formers.
We want to give your daughter someone informed and relevant to talk to about all the decisions she currently faces, and which can seem so daunting: someone who can share her own insights into the challenges that your daughter is facing, who can support her through her university choices and applications, and answer any questions she has around the transition from school to life beyond.
In short, a mentor will provide your daughter with a greater understanding of herself and her future. And who knows, with the benefit of this personal investment and the confidence it brings, maybe your daughter will become one of our next generation of mentors, and give another Sixth Former a head start on the rest of her life.
