Outstanding pastoral care is a fundamental aspect of life at Oxford High, as ISI noted when they recognised OHS as the only ‘Exceptional’ school in the Oxford area. As a GDST school, it is one of our core values to put girls first and we believe this means providing a supportive, caring environment in which your daughter can relax, thrive and shine as an individual.
Girls can talk with any member of staff about any worries or concerns, and there is a school counsellor available with whom the girls can meet, with parental permission, should they feel this would be beneficial.
We take the wellbeing of our girls seriously and use both our Personal, Social and Health Education programme and the innovative Positive Schools Programme to enable girls to develop their emotional literacy and intelligence through activities such as mindfulness, yoga and cognitive behavioural strategies.
Your daughter’s physical health and wellbeing will be cared for to the highest standards during her time at school. We have trained health specialists onsite at all times, as well as a fantastic School Nurse at the Health Centre, who can dispense medicine and provide advice about health and medical matters.
