Careers and Networking Fair 2025

31 January 2025

span class=”intro” style=”font-weight: 400;”>On Thursday 30th January, Oxford High School hosted a vibrant and insightful Careers and Higher Education Networking Fair, where students had the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from top universities, apprenticeship providers and a range of industries. The event provided an invaluable platform for students to explore their options post-A Levels and gather expert advice to guide them in their future careers.

A Wealth of University Expertise

Students had the chance to speak with representatives from some of the UK’s most prestigious institutions. From Russell Group universities to the first professional theatre in the UK to have it’s own resident training company, the stalls covered a diverse array of options to suit every interest and ambition.

Alumnae and Early Career Professionals

One of the most unique features of the event was the opportunity to network with recent alumnae and early-career professionals. In the Library, students were able to chat with individuals like Joana Baptista (Class of 2019), an Oxford graduate now working at Apple, who provided valuable tips on applying to Oxbridge, securing roles in management consultancy, and navigating the corporate world.

Other alumnae included Georgia Geekie (Class of 2018), who discussed the benefits of studying at Cambridge and working in TV production, and Ottilie Hicks (Class of 2022), a Paramedic Science student at Nottingham Trent University.

The fair wasn’t just about the institutions on offer, but also about connecting our students with real-life role models who could offer personal insights and guidance based on their own experiences.

Guidance and Support

Throughout the afternoon, Ms Heath, our Head of Careers and Higher Education, was on hand to offer personalised advice. Whether students were unsure about their next steps, needed help with applications, or simply wanted to explore their options.

Thank you to all the universities, organisations, and alumnae who participated in the event. Your expertise and support are invaluable in helping our students realise their full potential.
