Girl Guides at OHS | From the Archives

17 December 2024

Oxford High School’s archives have recently received a fascinating and generous donation from an alumna, offering a rare glimpse into the school’s past. The consisting of several cine reels, captures a special part of OHS history: the Girl Guide camps and marches from 1960 to 1965. The cine reels were donated by Louise Robertson (nee Brown), who attended Oxford High School until 1965.

These films provide a unique window into the outdoor activities, community spirit and traditions central to the Girl Guides at Oxford High. From the campfires to the Remembrance service parades, these moments on film reflect the enthusiasm and camaraderie that defined the era.
