This autumn, Oxford High School was thrilled to present Lionel Bart’s Oliver! as our term musical. From the iconic opening strains of Food, Glorious Food to the emotional finale, our students captivated audiences with their talent and dedication.
The production was a true school-wide effort, with students from across year groups playing a variety of roles both on and off stage. The cast brought Dickens’ classic characters to life with impressive acting and heartfelt singing, while the school orchestra delivered a rich and vibrant score that added depth to every scene.
Behind the scenes, another talented team worked tirelessly to create the immersive world of 19th-century London. Under the expert guidance of Mr. Pelling and Mr. Hay, students designed and built the set, transforming the stage into bustling streets, grim workhouses, and Fagin’s infamous den.
The production showcased not only the exceptional performing arts skills at Oxford High School but also the incredible teamwork and creativity of our students. Oliver! was a memorable highlight of the autumn term, leaving both cast and audiences eagerly awaiting our next musical adventure.
