Junior Dressage Champion

2 October 2024

Written by Mysha, Year 13

Competing at the Under 25 Sheepgate Dressage Championships was a fantastic way to wrap up the competition season, filled with personal successes that made the experience even more memorable. I was proud to bring both my horses, and they gave their all throughout the event.

The biggest highlight was winning the Junior Championship. The win felt like a true reflection of the hard work and dedication we’ve put in, making it all the more rewarding. Competing in an environment filled with talented young riders made it even more special, as the supportive atmosphere really pushed everyone to do their best.

I was also really pleased to finish 3rd with my other horse in the same class. We’ve only been a partnership for half a year, so seeing how much progress she’s made and how well she handled the competition environment was a huge achievement for both of us.

To top it off, I was the reserve champion in the Young Rider Championship, which was especially special as it was my first year competing in that age class. Finishing second among strong riders was a great way to close the weekend.

Overall, Sheepgate was an unforgettable experience that reminded me how far my horses and I have come in the span of a year. It’s given me even more motivation to keep pushing, improving, and setting new goals for the future.
