Following a successful application, Oxford High School GDST has been granted a licence to host a TEDx Youth Event on 12th March 2024. Our theme New Realities: The Big Questions Shaping Our Future will feature a selection of inspiring talks from our pupils and guest speakers.
The TEDx platform is recognised worldwide and offers a unique opportunity for our school to highlight important issues facing our pupils and to explore how we can empower young people to navigate a future of uncertainty, changing expectations, fresh challenges, competing priorities, and jobs that do not even exist yet.
Speakers will include lots of our inspiring students alongside trailblazers Claire Davenport, CEO, NED and Angel Investor, Jennie Lees from groundbreaking artificial intelligence research laboratory, Google DeepMind, and Anna Whitehouse, Campaigner and Founder of Mother Pukka.
Unfortunately, TEDx places a strict restriction on the number of audience live members we are permitted to invite and so we regret that we are not able to open the invitation to all parents to watch in person. However, we are very much looking forward to sharing the video footage following it so everyone has the opportunity to hear the thought-provoking talks from student and guest speakers.
We look forward to updating you over the coming weeks about this wonderful opportunity for the school.
