After a rejuvenation of the House system last term, House events have continued on an upwards trajectory throughout the Spring Term. Each team of House Prefects have shared their highlights, from House Bake Off to sports challenges. This is what our House Prefects had to say…
Zeus
As the newest Zeus prefects, we are so grateful to have been welcomed by the girls in the best House at Oxford High.
A series of exciting events occurred this term and we want to thank everyone who participated. Our favourite event was Hungry Hippos, which was not only amusing, but also helped bond different year groups. We may not have had the result we wanted but the atmosphere was great and we all had lots of fun.
In the House Bake-off, we saw many Zeus bakers use their creative skills to bake delicious cupcakes.
All of these have encouraged team and House spirit. We have had a lot of fun this term, and we hope you did too – there’s so much more in the Summer Term for everyone to get involved in and we can’t wait to see more faces then!
Athena
We’re super proud of all of Athena’s enthusiasm this term, with 59 entries to the house logo competition, and lots of entries to the House Bake Off, which all looked (and tasted) great!
We had great spirit in the House University Challenge, with the Year 7-9s doing amazingly and coming 2nd! We’ve also done really well on House Awards this term, which is amazing, and we were the most ethical players in hungry hippos, playing by the rules. Go Athena!
Ares
We want to say such a big well done to the whole of Ares House for everything you have achieved this term. From second place in Hungry Hippos, which was amazing to see the year groups mixing and working together, to the amazing cakes that were made for House Bake Off.
A huge well done for winning House Linguistics as well as everyone else that entered. The logo submissions were amazing, and it was wonderful to see everyone’s artistic talents and abilities coming through. We can’t wait for next term to win even more competitions and get even more House points, Go Ares!
Poseidon
This term Poseidon has performed amazingly! We’ve had many House events that Poseidon has competed in eagerly. Some of these House events include linguistics, chess and bake off. It was great to see such enthusiasm from everyone.
Poseidon thrived in the University Challenge where Year 10-13 won, House netball where Year 8 and Year 9 won and, to Mr Pelling’s joy, Year 11 won both House Badminton and Table Tennis!
Everybody contributed to Poseidon’s victory in the House Quiz and House Hungry Hippos. Well done Poseidon, let’s continue this winning streak next term!
