We started our Wellness Week with uplifting music in the Crush Hall in the morning. The music actually lightened my mood! Unfortunately, I wasn’t in on Monday, but we had a Year 7 house netball match and Hungry Hippos. I love the enthusiasm that the school has!
Then we had a wonderful Tuesday with a relaxing nail spa in the Crush Hall and some refreshing smoothies at lunch, in the Dining Hall. Wednesday wasn’t really too special, but there was an interesting talk for Years 11 to 13 in the Ada Benson Building, on ‘Keeping Calm in Times of Pressure.’ Also, during period 6, the Year 8s attended a talk on ‘Happiness’ in the Lecture Theatre.
On Thursday lunchtime, we had a fun Zumba class in the Main Hall, to boost our minds and bodies. On Friday we had mufti-day, which involved wearing an outfit that makes us smile; we were supporting the charity Place2Be. Also, Year 9 attended a talk about sleep by Year 12 psychology students.
My favourite part of the day was the school disco at lunch. What I liked about this, was not only are you dancing to music, but also free to be who you are. I had a terrific Wellness Week, I hope it happens next year because of the amazing activities that come with it and I can see how happy we can be, if we are just ourselves.
