Oxford High School is proud is proud to maintain many links and several key partnership projects within our local community. These partners include local primary schools, sporting clubs and community hubs, as well as long-standing relationships with local charities and businesses providing bursary and scholarship support.
Ada Benson Building
Oxford High School proudly sits in one of Oxford’s most attractive North suburbs, Summertown. Oxford is a cultural hot spot where down every road history can be found, and here at Oxford High School we have utilised this with the creation of a new community space. We greatly appreciate the local community’s patience with the construction of our new Ada Benson Building and are delighted to invite them to use the new and innovative facilities we now hold. Available are numerous spaces such as; the Atria where the Summertown public is welcome to hold community groups, music recitals and ceremonies. If national theatre is a love of yours, we will now be screening National Theatre events live in our Dame Pippa Harris Auditorium, or take a walk down Design Street where we invite you to host art exhibitions. We offer numerous other flexible spaces available for community use, there isn’t much the Ada Benson building won’t be able to accommodate, making it a gem in the local community.
JEMS
Our irrepressible Biology teacher Maria Whittington leads in the running of JEMS (‘Juniors doing Engineering, Maths and Science’), a triannual event which sees up to 100 Year 5 pupils from ten or more primary schools across Oxford joining us for a morning of science activities. Each morning has a different focus, such as material science or engineering, and is designed to share our own students’ love and curiosity for the subject. The morning is staffed by a different form of Year 8 students each term, all of whom love sharing their knowledge, and who often find themselves forming new friendships with their charges. Past and future sponsors have included the Royal Society of Chemistry and Beard, the contractors responsible for our new Sixth Form and Arts facility.
Girls on the Ball
Girls on the Ball is our hugely popular sporting partnership, offering girls-only access to expert coaching and facilities in football, hockey and netball. Supported by HSBC and run by our sports department, the programme sees approximately 200 girls from 
15 primary schools across Oxford – including some of the most economically challenged areas in the UK – join us throughout the year for a rotating carousel of different sports. It’s great fun for all involved, but also provides some wonderful opportunities to develop team-skills and mutual understanding. At the close of every season of Girls on the Ball, each girl gets to keep her own shirt with her team’s colours on. It serves as a reminder of what she’s capable of when she works with others and competes with respect.
Summertown.info
Oxford High School is fortunate to have a strong partnership with Summertown.info, the community hub for our North Oxford community. Recent collaborations have involved singing at the recent switching on of the Summertown Christmas lights. Led by Dr Peter Foster, our Director of Music, the OHS girls sang beautifully alongside pupils from Cutteslowe Primary School and D’overbroeck’s College. Oxford City Councillor for Summertown, and former OHS parent, Andrew Gant praised the turnout.He said: “It was fantastic, a really good success. What I was really pleased with for this year was that you had participation from four local schools. It was really nice to make it such a community event.”
