We are looking for an outstanding teacher of piano to join our talented team of visiting music teachers at the Prep School from September.

The role

The successful candidate will be an outstanding musician and be ready to work enthusiastically with children, often beginners, aged 7-11. Experience and empathy with this age group are essential.

The school has a thriving music department with over 80 girls having lessons in school each week, and a wide range of orchestral and ensemble experiences on offer. Depending on the interests and skills of the appointee, there may also be opportunity for small ensemble work as the role develops.

You will be engaged on a self-employed basis, term time only. You will be responsible for creating your own timetable, in line with school guidelines, to ensure weekly lessons of 30 minutes are taught to your pupils. The number of pupils will vary due to demand.

There are currently two orchestras, a wind band, and smaller chamber ensembles run by visiting music teachers as the demand requires. The Music Department is staffed by a Director of Music, an assistant music teacher, and 12 visiting music staff, some of whom also work at the Senior School site.
