Whilst most of us mere mortals will be spending the run-up to Christmas overdosing on chocolate and binge-watching festive films, Leni and Beth (Year 13) will be donning their running kit and attempting the seemingly impossible: 3 marathons in 3 days.
Raising money for local charity Enrych, which aims to increase wellbeing and independence in adults with disabilities, the girls will take on the gruelling challenge over three consecutive days in the lead up to Christmas. Their route will cover three 26-mile sections of the Cotswolds Way, a beautiful but undeniably hilly path running from Chipping Campden to Bath.
From Leni and Beth:
“During the second lockdown we needed to find a way of keeping fit (and sane) and so we decided to set ourselves the challenge of running much (much much much!) further than we have ever run before. 3 marathons in 3 days sounded like a nice stupidly big challenge so we thought we’d give it a go. We also thought it would be a great opportunity to raise money for Enrych, a charity supporting adults with disabilities in the community. We have been training lots (and lots and lots) and are super excited to do the run, so we’d really appreciate your support!”
Good luck girls – we wish you all the best with this endeavour!
