Year 4 at Dorchester Abbey

10 October 2018

Year 4 had a hugely enjoyable visit to Dorchester Abbey in conjunction with our topic on Anglo- Saxons. The day was packed with activities including; Lucet weaving, looking at artefacts, taking part in Haerfest. They also took part in re-enacting the baptism of King Cynegil by Bishop Birinus, bringing Christianity to Wessex.

“My favourite thing was the brooch making, we were given a small piece of copper and a biro. Then we pushed the pen into the copper and made a pattern.” Flora 4S
