Senior IT Technician
Full time, all year round
Salary: £20,901 – £27,804 pa

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Technician to play a key role in the IT support team at our leading independent day school in the heart of Oxford.

As the IT Technician, you will maintain the School’s IT systems and assist with installing new and upgraded IT systems to ensure their integrity. The role will also involve providing technical advice to colleagues, working to ensure IT issues are resolved and developing procedures to ensure the smooth running of IT systems.

Our network is based on Windows 10 PCs with MS Server 2012 servers with MS Office 2016 Professional, O365, GAFE and subject related software. Oxford High School has 500 Windows PCs, 300 iPads, 200 Chromebooks and other mobile devices. As a school we are keen to invest in the technologies that make the most difference in the classroom and are not tied to any particular solution.

To be successful in this role, you will have a strong technical understanding of IT systems, including Microsoft operating systems, and proven experience of delivering customer focused IT services.

Preparatory School Gap Year Assistant

Oxford High Preparatory School is seeking enthusiastic and committed school leavers to be a member of a vibrant school community. You will be an integral part of the team working with fantastic children and staff at the Prep School. You will have a timetable that consists of daily duties, assisting in the classroom as well as contributing to the logistical demands of a school day. We are keen to make use of your interests and skills be they sport, the arts or sciences although you may prefer to simply immerse yourself into the wide range of activities and events that take place on a daily basis. Those who have previously worked at the school as gap year assistants have thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are often very sad to leave.

Prep School After School Care Manager

Oxford High School is seeking to appoint a motivated and highly organised member of staff to manage the daily After School Care provision at our Prep School.

After School Care (ASC) operates every day from 3.30pm to 6pm at the Prep School site. There are approximately 50 children in ASC each day with around half of those from EYFS. The ASC manager will have the responsibility of ensuring a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment as well as fulfilling a range of administrative duties as laid out in the job description.

Organisational skills are essential with the candidate needing to manage staff and children during a busy period of the day. The ability to communicate clearly with parents is required but we are also looking for someone who has relevant experience in a childcare setting or who has demonstrable evidence of establishing positive relationships with children and colleagues.

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed person to care for and supervise our children during the lunchtime period at our Pre-Prep School.  You will be an integral part of the team helping the girls in the dining room ensuring their well-being and helping to make lunchtime a happy and sociable occasion.

In particular we are looking for someone who has experience of young children, perhaps through having been a parent themselves.  It is not necessary to have previous experience of having worked in a school, though an ability to demonstrable evidence of establishing positive relationships with children would be a decided advantage.

The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic ‘can do’ approach; eager to go the extra mile to ensure our girls receive the highest standards of care and safekeeping.

Your hours of work will be 11:30 – 13:00 Monday to Friday. A degree of flexibility with your working arrangements is required from time to time to assist us in meeting the needs of the busy school calendar.

Finance Assistant

This is an opportunity for an accounts professional to play a keyrole ensuring the provision of an accurate and effective financial support service within an exceptional school.

As the Finance Assistant, you will join a busy support and finance team reporting to the Finance Manager and assisting with all aspects of school accounting but with particular responsibilities for purchase ledger functions, accruals and prepayments, expenses, credit card and trips administration.

The finance Assistant is required to train staff to use the purchase order system, and to liaise with parents, staff, suppliers and external hirers, so the ability to prioritise workload an develop and maintain positive working relationships with others is an essential aspect of the role.

The role requires previous experience of working in a finance department, ideally either with or working towards an accountancy/financial qualification (e.g. AAT) as well as an understanding of accounting software (PS Financials/SAGE software or equivalent).

You will also need to have an all-round accounting background, which includes experience with sales and purchase ledgers, the ability to do journals, accruals and prepayments and the production of monthly management reports.
