WHO WE ARE

Head's
Vision

A message from
Marina Gardiner Legge, Head.

At Oxford High School GDST we don’t just educate, we ignite. This is not a place that shapes young women, it’s a place that enables them to shape themselves. For 150 years, we’ve stood for something more than academic excellence. We’ve stood for originality, for courage, and for the kind of education that gives girls the confidence to be unapologetically themselves and do brilliant things.

Here, curiosity is celebrated. Challenge is welcomed. And individuality is not just accepted it’s expected. Our students lead with conviction, whether they’re launching world-class conferences, writing to global leaders, or managing our very own beehives. They don’t wait for permission to act, they act because they believe they can.

We’re proud to be part of a city that thrives on learning and discovery, and even prouder to be part of the GDST who understand how high-achieving young women flourish. Our staff know each student deeply and not just how she learns, but how she dreams, and they work to support her journey, lifting her towards her ambitions with care and high expectations.

Leadership here isn’t a title. It’s a mindset. And it starts early. From Reception to Sixth Form, our girls are given space to explore, to question, and to grow into the most authentic version of themselves. They are not moulded, they are empowered.

Oxford High School is a place of spirit, fun, and fierce ambition. It’s a place where community matters, where voices rise, and where every girl is encouraged to take up space, speak her mind, and make her mark.

We are proud of our past. Excited for our future. And ready to welcome the next generation of trailblazers.

We are Makers of the Bold.
