What Are You Grateful For?

4 June 2020

Gratitude is one of the simplest and most powerful ways to feel a greater sense of wellbeing.

Particularly during difficult times, showing appreciation for everyday acts of kindness and the little things we take for granted, can help us realise just how fortunate we are.

Last week, we asked Year 10 students to make a list of five things they’re grateful for. We were delighted to note that for many, the only difficulty they faced in carrying out this task, was narrowing their list down to just five things!

Here are some of our favourite submissions. Thank you to all of the girls who took part.

“The lockdown has allowed me to reorganise my life and focus more on the things I enjoy doing.”

“I have become a lot more active and now know the routes around Uni Parks like the back of my hand! I have been for a walk (or a cycle) every day so far and the dog comes with us all the time – she goes in the front basket of my bike and it is so adorable.”

“I’m grateful for the fact that although this has been strange and stressful, there has been much less social pressure which has given me room to grow and realise the importance of the people in my life.”

“I’m grateful to have a strong family and school support system during this time.”

“Being able to enjoy the warmth and sun in my garden.”
