FOxHS is Oxford High School’s Parent Association at the Senior School, responsible for fund-raising and providing social events for the whole school community. FOxHS runs the second hand uniform shop throughout the year and we are always grateful for donations of unwanted uniform. FOxHS raises money specifically for the benefit of the girls and we regularly donate towards the Annual Fund. Without these funds the girls wouldn’t be able to have all those ‘extras’ from which they benefit. Alongside, parent contributions and donations, Barclays Bank PLC kindly sponsors one of our events per year, by match-funding up to £1000.

We run numerous annual events throughout the year, the biggest being FIREWORKS, where 900 turn up to watch an amazing display from Skyline Fireworks. Other popular fundraising events are the discos, which we run for Years 7, 8 and 9 with boys invited from Magdalen, New College and Christchurch schools. QUIZ NIGHT is always held in the Summer Term, where parents, teachers, Governors and Sixth Formers battle for the title ‘Brain of OHS’! To close the academic year we have a garden tour of one of the Oxford colleges, with associated talk and champagne. We try to hold one individual event in the year to complement the annual fundraisers such as a Spanish Evening of music and dance featuring well-known flamenco guitarist Rafael.

We meet twice per term to plan events and discuss ideas. We are always looking for parents with new fund-raising ideas and for those who will help at events on an occasional basis. We also look to raise the profile of FOxHS throughout the school by advertising events in INFO, emails directly to parents on the class lists and we sending promotional info home with the girls.
