We are thrilled to introduce the newest cohort of Year 12 Prefects who embody leadership and dedication at OHS. Our Prefect Team play a leading role in representing the views of their peers and promoting positive behaviour. Over the next year, they will work closely with the Head and Director of Sixth Form to create a positive impact on school life.
Meet the Prefects
Chelsea (Head Girl)
Hi, I’m Chelsea and I am honored to be the new Head Girl as well as a year 11 prefect. As the Head Girl, I hope to be a strong voice for students, helping to create an environment where everyone feels heard, valued and confident to be themselves. I am also incredibly excited to work with the perfect team to make positive changes that benefit our whole school. As one of the year 11 prefects with Beatrice, we hope that we can guide this lovely year group, help them feel calm and prepared about their GCSE as well as creating more exciting opportunities for them.
Jenny (Deputy Head Girl)
Hi, I’m Jenny and I’m honoured to be your new Deputy Head Girl and a Social Action Prefect. I’m really excited for the coming year and ready to get more involved in our school community and upcoming events. I’m also eager to continue the hard work of last year’s Social Action Prefects by encouraging wider involvement across all year groups in a variety of charitable activities. I’ve always wanted to make a real difference and give back to the community, so I look forward to organising fun events and raising more money this year for so many important charities.
Becky (Chair of School Council)
I’m Becky and I will be the Chair of School Council, Prep School prefect and Social Action prefect for the next year. As Chair of School Council, I’m really looking forward to being involved in and implementing positive changes to the school, whilst listening and sharing ideas with the younger years. Similarly, as Social Action prefect I am excited to lead and take part in fundraising events and to inspire others to raise money for charity. I’m also looking forward to working with the Prep School and helping them to feel more included with the Senior School.
Mary
Hello, my name is Mary and as one of the new Eco prefects I am very much looking forward to working with the Eco committee and the amazing Dr Chorley to help make not only Oxford High, but the wider community greener. I am also, together with Phoebe, a new Music prefect and we hope to create even more musical opportunities for students throughout the school to be able to showcase their talents and to encourage more people to get involved.
Tati
Hi! I’m Tati and I am one of the Year 7 Prefects and one of the Art Prefects. In my role of a year 7 prefect I plan to get to know the new students and make them feel welcome at Oxford High. As well as this I want to help them have a brilliant year and really enjoy their time at school. As the one of the Art prefects, I want to introduce new ideas and projects and try to get as many students as possible involved.
Phoebe
Hi! I’m Phoebe and I am the music, sport, and drama prefect for this year. I am excited about working with both staff and students to help strengthen our school community and ensure everyone feels supported and encouraged to take part. As a prefect, I hope to be someone others feel comfortable approaching, whether they have ideas to share or need a bit of encouragement to try something new. I am especially excited to help organise events, performances and fixtures that celebrate the wide range of talents within our school. This year, I would also like to focus on making opportunities inclusive for all, whether someone is trying something new for the first time or is helping to lead others!
Manal
Hi, I’m Manal, one of the Academic Prefects, as well as a Wellbeing Prefect. In my role as Academic Prefect, I hope to be there to help students with their studies, give advice when needed, and encourage a positive approach to learning. As one of the Year 8 Prefects, I hope to act as a bridge between students and staff, and I’d like to be a familiar face to everyone in year 8, someone they can talk to. This ties in well with my role as Wellbeing prefect as I want to make involvement in charity events and activities, especially those which promote student wellbeing, both more enjoyable and more accessible.
Sarah
Hi! I’m Sarah, and I’m an art, academic, and wellbeing/diversity prefect. As an art prefect, I am excited about introducing creative activities for the school to enjoy. I will also do my very best to make sure everyone feels included and represented at school, as well as discussing the academic demands of life with teachers and students. As a Year 7 prefect, I am also very much looking forward to getting to know the year 7s better, as well as supporting this year’s talent show!!
Leila
I’m Leila, and I am a STEM prefect alongside Isobel and Beatrice, as well as a Year 8 prefect with Manal. It is an honour to be part of the prefect team, as it is an opportunity to give back to the OHS community. I am really looking forward to getting to know the Year 8s and building a stronger connection to the lower school. Through my role as a STEM prefect, I aim to offer more enrichment opportunities, such as conferences and clubs, and I look forward to working with the science and maths departments this year.
Eloise
Hi! I’m Eloise and I am an Academic and Drama prefect, as well as the 6th Form prefect. My aim is to promote interdisciplinary learning within the humanities and to encourage original interpretations. I hope to introduce ideas that help students expand their perspectives, and I will always be happy to support and talk with students who share a passion for these subjects. As Drama prefect I look forward to encouraging more participation in all aspects of the subject, helping with the staff pantomime, and working with my fellow prefects. I joined OHS because I think the opportunities in the 6th Form are fabulous and so, as the prefect, I will work closely with the 6th Form team to effectively represent and support the 6th Form community.
Sophie B
Hi, I’m Sophie, and I am the GDST Student Council Representative, along with the Year 9, Prep and Admin prefect. I am really looking forward to meeting with all the other GDST schools to exchange ideas and initiatives, and I hope that we can create more opportunities to work with all the different schools as part of this! As a Prep prefect, I want to work towards more events and cooperation between the two sites, especially between the important step for Year 6 up into senior school! In working with Year 9, I want to help develop further support as they begin to make the important decisions moving up through the school, as well as help enact any further changes and ideas they want to bring through.
Chellisha
Hello, I’m Chellisha and I’m an Art, Drama and Year 9 prefect. As a prefect in general, we help out around the school and support (sometimes after school) events when needed. As an Art and Drama prefect, I’m really excited to push forwards a wide range of super-curricular activities for students and encourage them to join clubs (and shows). As a Year 9 prefect, I would like to get to know the year group better and support them as they transition into the start of Year 10 as GCSEs approaches.
