As we approach Chinese (Lunar) New Year, our school community is excited to celebrate the traditions, culture and meaning behind this important festival. We wish everyone a joyful and prosperous Year of the Horse!
This week, pupils have been enjoying a series of vibrant activities, starting with a special assembly exploring the history and significance of Lunar New Year, reflecting on themes of renewal, family and good fortune.
The celebrations extend beyond the assembly hall. Students have taken part in traditional dumpling making, learning about the symbolism behind the food and the importance of sharing meals with loved ones. Year 7 pupils have also explored the intricate art of traditional Chinese knot making, a craft that represents unity, prosperity and good luck.
