All KS2 joined together at St. Andrew’s Church on 6 December for our Christmas Concert.
After some impressive playing from the Senior Orchestra and the Clarinet Group, the Year 3 and 4 choir and then the Year 5 and 6 choir sang; we all performed a round, accompanied by young instrumentalists, ‘Poor Traveller’. Chamber choir, accompanied by Mr Fairbairn on conga, set a festive mood with “Exsultate!” before singing beautifully the moving new carol, “A Carol for Our Times” by local composer David Blackwell. We were treated to a seasonal song from the parent and teacher choir before moving on to perform the musical “Gimme! Gimme!” With an overall theme of caring for those less fortunate than ourselves, and songs in a wide range of styles, actors from Year 6 told the story, before the wind ensemble brought the afternoon to a rousing close. Congratulations to everyone involved for your high standards of performance in a thoroughly enjoyable concert!
