Today, we wave goodbye to a valued member of our OHS community – Andy, our Premises Manager.
Andy joined OHS on 1st July 1998, having previously worked as a builder for almost 20 years, and then serving as school caretaker for over 6 years, before Felicity Lusk appointed him to his role at OHS.
Andy has given us a magnificent 22 years’ service and he’s worked for a number of Heads, Business Managers and Directors of Finance. He has seen the school through any number of changes over the years, not least the new build at the Senior School and the recent Ada Benson Building project.
The common thread that runs through the history of Andy’s career with the school is his kindness, nothing is ever too much trouble; his hard work, he’s given so many years of dedicated service to the school; his love of family – Elaine and the children and now grandchildren have always been at the centre of his life and he is a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He also has a legendary ability to turn his hand to anything, and he has always gone that extra mile time and again in service of the school, and for his friends.
Thank you Andy, for everything you have done for all of us and so many others. We will miss you enormously but you have earned a rest now – even though we know you will still be busy, and once things are a little more normal. We hope that you, Elaine and all your family will be able to enjoy Cyprus, and that there are also some cruises into the sunset being planned!
