Entry into Year 7
The Year 7 Admissions Day is held on a Saturday each November for entry to Year 7 (11+) in the following September. Girls who wish to attend should be registered for admission no later than the end of October of the Autumn Term of Year 6. To apply for a bursary, please tick the bursaries box on the registration form.
The Admissions Day takes the form of a combined admissions and taster day. During the day, girls sit assessment papers in English, Maths and a multiple choice Reasoning verbal and non-verbal reasoning paper. They also have the opportunity to participate in activities chosen from Art, Drama, Music and PE, with fun Science sessions for all. The activities do not form any part of the assessment process. We invite all girls attending the Admissions Day to attend for interview in the following week with the Head and other senior members of staff.
We welcome applications from girls from a very wide variety of schools. Advance preparation is not recommended, nor are past papers available as we set our own assessments every year, to enable us to look for potential as well as level of attainment. All candidates for the Year 7 admissions assessments are entered for the Academic Scholarships, which are awarded on merit, based on performance in the admissions assessments and at interview. There is no separate scholarship examination or interview. For Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships a separate application should be made. Candidates should be registered for entry prior to application.
Candidates should be registered in advance. We recommend you register by the end of October in Year 6. The registration fee is £100 (£150 for non-UK residents).
If you are intending to apply for a bursary and are currently in receipt of Income Support, please speak to Mrs Hobbs to discuss the possibility of waiving the required registration fee. Please also tick the box regarding bursaries on the registration form.
