Welcome to Oxford High from Kate Gater, Head of OHS Junior School, who joined Oxford High in 2016 from Edgbaston High School for Girls, bringing with her much experience in leadership in a successful all-through girls’ school alongside her husband Mark and (of course!) her Cocker Spaniel, Gaius.

Reflections on my first year at OHS

You only need to be here for a little while to feel the special atmosphere in this wonderfully vibrant school.  As Head of the Junior School I consider myself very privileged to spend my working days with such delightful girls and alongside such an exceptional staff.

Girls at Oxford High Junior School are enthusiastic and inquisitive and our teaching staff excel at creating engaging learning experiences which inspire and challenge.  Our aim is to recognise each girl as an individual and to build and extend her knowledge and skills so that she is able to grow in self-confidence and to achieve her full potential.

Our girls become proficient life-long learners through our connected curriculum and are encouraged to explore, develop and share their own interests.  We encourage girls to be bold and courageous and to reach beyond their comfort zones; taking intellectual risks and thinking for themselves.

If you would like to know more about Oxford High Junior School, do come and join us at one of our regular Open Days or call our admissions team to arrange a tour.  A website can only ever offer a snapshot of reality and I would be delighted to welcome you at the school and allow you to get a sense of the place for yourself. I hope to meet you soon.
