If you have ever pondered joining the Combined Cadet Force, then look no further than these recent photos of the RAF and Army sections to give you a flavour of the experience and training that our girls receive as part of their CCF commitment, led by Flt Lt R P Hypher (aka Mr Hypher, Head of Physics!). These latest photos show Cadet Sergeant Rosiella Sutherland firing the L98 5.56mm Cadet Rifle at the 25m rifle range at Longmoor Army Training Area, at Imber in 2016 and flying in February 2017. For many of our Year 10, kitted out with full RAF flying kit (Mk 16A Aircrew coveralls, flying helmets and soft-grain cape leather flying gloves), this was their first time being in a light aircraft and whilst excited, perhaps a bit scared at times, they found it a huge thrill to go flying and to actually take control of the aeroplane – including aerobatics.
