It has never been a more exciting time to join OHS’s Sixth Form. Our 360 Programme offers a completely innovative approach to learning and preparation for life beyond school whilst ensuring the academic rigour that Oxford High is renowned for.
The process for entering into Year 12 usually begins with a visit to our ‘Into the Sixth’ event or to the Senior School Open Evening which are both held during the Autumn Term every year and we would strongly recommend booking these dates in the diary as they are very well-attended. There are other Open events throughout the school year however so do not worry if you miss those in the Autumn Term.
External applicants to the Sixth Form will be asked to meet the following minimum entry requirements: At least 5 A*/A grades at GCSE/IGCSE including an A*/A in the subjects they want to study at A Level, if applicable and a B or above in English Language and Mathematics.
All candidates should be registered in advance. If you are intending to apply for a bursary please tick the box on the initial registration form. For more details please check our Admissions policy. If you are currently in receipt of job seeker’s allowance or another form of state benefit, please speak to Mrs Hobbs to discuss the possibility of waiving the required registration fee.
Entry is by application with references, including predicted GCSE/IGCSE grades. Each candidate is asked to do a short written task, with an interview with the Head, Head of Sixth Form and Deputy Head, Academic. A portfolio should be brought to interview if Art-related subjects are to be studied.
We can offer you an Admissions morning or afternoon to suit you, but please bear in mind that if you wish to apply for a Sixth Form Scholarship or a GDST Fee Bursary you should be registered for entry by mid-October in Year 11.
Some subject choices fill up rapidly, so early registration is recommended.
